Amaya James

 

Amaya James is a Kriya Yoga Teacher, Conscious Dance Facilitator, Transformational Coach and Women’s Empowerment & Leadership Guide. In addition to her private coaching practice, she leads classes, workshops and trainings, which facilitate a deeper connection with Self, Others and the Universe at large. She uses an Integral Theory approach, and draws from an array of modalities, such as, embodiment, breathwork, meditation, dreams, shadow, EFT, hypnosis, intuitive healing and trauma release. She has her BA from UC Berkeley, is ERYT200, RYT500, and YACEP certified through Yoga Alliance, and is currently working on a graduate degree in Conscious & Transformative Studies at JFK University. She is also a producer and host of the FemmSouth Podcast, edits and writes for the FemmSouth blog, and does web management and graphic design for FemmSouth.

Leigh Bancroft

 

Leigh Bancroft is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at University of Maryland University College and Adjunct Instructor at Coastal Alabama Community College in Fairhope Al where she teaches English Literature, college writing, and critical thinking. Leigh is also a producer and host of the FemmSouth Podcast, edits and writes for the FemmSouth blog, and facilitates the local FemmSouth bookclub where women get together to read women’s literature and share experiences. She is passionate about women’s literature, feminist theory, feminism for healing, women’s history, and giving voice to women’s experiences in the South.

Katie Penry

 

Dr. Katie Penry is a licensed clinical psychologist with a doctorate from Wheaton College in Illinois. Her residency was completed at Mississippi State Hospital where she served as chief resident. She acquired postdoctoral training at Brookhaven Institute and most recently, completed training at Harvard’s Brazelton Institute in Newborn Behavior Observation. She remains active in Zero to Three, APA, and several other professional organizations. While Dr. Penry is a psychoanalytically oriented therapist, she is also eclectic in intervention - always referencing the best practices for a specific disorder or dysfunction and proceeding collaboratively. Ultimately, psychotherapy is a “coming alongside.”

Sarah Rutledge Fischer

 

Sarah Rutledge Fisher is a freelance writer and artist living and working in Fairhope, AL. Sarah’s art focuses on the female nude figure and intentionally subverts the traditional objectifying gaze to cultivate an atmosphere of vulnerability and empathy. She currently writes for Focus Midsouth Magazine, a bi-monthly print and online publication targeted at the LGBTQ population of Memphis, TN and the surrounding areas. Under the banner of her advice column identity, Ask Allie, Sarah addresses such topics as: non-binary gender identity, conversion therapy, transgender online dating, and the HIV status disclosure. She is currently involved with the LGBTQIA community organization Rainbow Mobile. Though no longer practicing, Sarah is a licensed attorney in both California and Alabama.

Jillian Rosandich

 

Jillian Rosandich is a doctoral teaching assistant at the United States Sports Academy. She earned her Master of Sports Science degree in sports management from the Academy and a bachelor’s degree in film and media arts from the University of New Orleans. Rosandich has experience in television, film and theater, working as an actor and in production in the United States and Malaysia. She earned the President’s Volunteer Service Award and Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for her work with Habitat for Humanity and Americorps in New Orleans, La., where she taught disaster preparedness. In her spare time, she serves as VP of Bay Area Young Democrats, co-chairs the Lower Alabama Youth Sport Initiative, and volunteers with local community theatre.
